The mother of 4-year-old Rose Ron, who has been missing for three months, is suspected of having told her husband, the girl's grandfather, to "get rid of her" before he allegedly murdered her.

U.S. authorities charged 11 people with stealing tens of millions of credit and debit card numbers from major retailers.

The retailers involved included bookseller Barnes and Noble and clothing retailer TJMaxx - known as TK Maxx in the UK - as well as Boston Market. According to the Federal Trade Commission, 9 million Americans have their identities stolen each year.

The Thai video game distributor has suspended sales of the game after the student stabbed a taxi driver to death and admitted trying to copy a scene from the game. They have also been urging video game arcades to stop use of the games.

P. Diddy, Nelly and Usher were forced to run for their lives when gunfire broke out at a party in Atlanta.

The event at Club Dream in Georgia on Friday night - hosted by Janet Jackson's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri - was interrupted when an unknown male pulled out a gun and began shooting erratically after he was charged double by a security guard when trying to enter the VIP area.

Police stripped a New York City officer of his badge and gun Monday after a video posted on YouTube showed him body-checking a bicyclist who was part of a Times Square demonstration.

The video was recorded Friday at the Critical Mass ride, a monthly protest of urban reliance on motor vehicles.

Jul. 28 - Suspected gunman who shot two people dead in a Tennessee church said he hated the "liberal movement".

The gunman apparently walked into the church with a concealed shotgun, then opened fire. Seven people were wounded.

A minor league pitcher accused of throwing a ball that hit a fan during a bench-clearing brawl was charged with felonious assault.

Peoria Chiefs pitcher Julio Castillo was arrested Thursday following the fight with the Single-A Dayton Dragons, authorities said Friday. Umpires ejected 15 players and the team's managers following the 10-minute brawl.

Castillo, 21, was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Montgomery County Jail officials said. Video from the game shows Castillo angrily throwing a ball, but doesn't show where the ball landed.
